You
haven't experienced Northern Alberta until you've seen a moose steal
across the highway into the forest, or stood in awe of the
dancing northern lights. Horseback the majestic Smoky River Mountains,
drift in a canoe down the mighty Peace River, or stand in wonder
overlooking the Athabasca Shield. Northern Alberta is nature at it's
best! Skies without horizons, fields of "gold" as far as the eye
can see, and hills splattered with the multi-coloured greens of
the aspens and conifers; it's a photographer's wonderland.

Be still, be very still, and watch the mighty
elk feed along the trees that line our acreages and farms. Stand in
awe of the skill of the black bear as you peek at one fishing along
our rivers, or the beaver building its dam. Nod and wink to the moose as they munch
in green clearings. And honk to the Canada Geese as
hundreds pass overhead in "V" formations. Not to be missed is one
of the largest populations of trumpeter swans in North America. Nestled
in the Grande Prairie area, the swan's majestic calling is sure to
entrance you.

Smell the wild roses and pick more Saskatoon berries
than you can eat. Marvel at the bouquets of Fireweed and Indian
Paintbrush that grow along the highways, or step carefully through
the forest to discover wild Tiger Lilies.
Nature surrounds us, and
can be as close as your backyard. Witness the breathtaking landscapes,
the abundance of wildlife, and endless skies.
That's Northern Alberta!
