Yes,
we work hard in Northern Alberta. All the more reason that we play hard.
The predictability of our
seasons makes outdoor recreation a breeze to plan and enjoy. Take
a dip at Hilliards Bay, ski the hills of the Smoky River or take
to the powder at the Whispering Pines Ski Hill in Worsley. Golf
overlooking the Athabasca River, canoe the waterways to Fort Chipewyan,
spend the day at the Marina in Cold Lake, snowmobile on the trails
around Whitecourt, or photograph dozens of bird species at Jessie
Lake in Bonnyville.

There are many ways to spend a fun-filled relaxing day in
Northern Alberta.
We're well organized when it comes to sports!
From baseball to hockey, basketball to swimming, we have it all for
the taking. For marathon runners, Fort McMurray has the largest Geoff
Gallaway training program in the world.

Northern Alberta is a
living testament of the Aboriginal wisdom Kahkiyaw Atoskitan-
"Lets all
work together". Partnerships between government, business, non-profit
groups, and enthusiastic volunteers have created a wide variety of
recreational facilities and activities in our communities.
With such
commitments, the residents of Northern Alberta have built a diversity
of recreational options. All you have to do is to go to the soccer
fields, arenas and skating rinks, swimming pools, bicycle trails,
boat launches, and ski hills and you will see people enjoying themselves.
That's Northern Alberta!
