Spring, the season of awakening as our trees,
fields, and wildlife come alive after a rejuvenating winter nap. The
return of the Canada goose marks the beginning of another growing
season. Farmers begin tilling the soil to take advantage of the hot
days with 18 hours of daylight. Northern Alberta becomes a dazzling
masterpiece of green golf courses, fields of golden canola, and endless
blue skies.
Dramatic spring rainstorms leave as quickly as they come,
nurturing in their wake a splendour of wildflowers that capture the
colours of the rainbow. |

Balmy summer evenings spent
along our lakes and rivers make for the perfect family outing as our
temperatures reach as high as 30oC at the peak of summer. By mid-June
we are blessed with sunrises at 4:00 AM, sunsets at 11:00 PM and a
twilight that lingers even longer.
Autumn warmth can carry us through September and October as our
forests are transformed into a kaleidoscope of amber, scarlet, and
golden palettes. |

Jack Frost's arrival powders
our ski hills, grooms our snowmobile trails, and converts our swimming
holes to our favourite ice fishing spots. The noticeably shorter days
by mid-December, with -20oC temperatures, creates the ideal backdrop
to dazzling displays of pinks, greens, and blues as the northern lights
frolic across our skies.
It all adds up to many bright hours of annual sunlight. That's Northern Alberta! |
