Northern Alberta invests
heavily in learning and in the leaders of tomorrow. There are over 5,000 public school teachers and 300 schools
serving the 65,000 young people of this region. Options for learning include Public, Catholic, First
Nations, Francophone, and Private.
In addition, our region boasts a variety of post-secondary options, including a university and a technical school, public and First Nations colleges, and many private training institutions.
Employment opportunities range from teaching professionals to educational psychologists, occupational therapists, curriculum specialists, and computer technicians. High demand jobs include elementary and secondary teachers (especially First Nations studies and French immersion teachers), university professors and assistants, educational counselors, First Nations child and family services social workers and speech pathologists.
